| Northwest Chorale is both demanding and easygoing at the same time. Auditions are held informally by section and take place during the first several weeks of rehearsals. Singers are expected to keep up during rehearsal and to be able to sing the complexity of music we perform. Singers are expected to regularly attend rehearsals with no more than three absences.
A membership donation or “dues” helps to defray our small administrative expenses and the cost of putting on a concert – usually hiring professional soloists and instrumentalists. The suggested donation is $50/season with provision for seniors, students, and those who are disabled. This fee may be reduced/waived by volunteering for our major fund-raiser.
We are a friendly, inclusive, and active organization. Members will agree part of the pleasure of singing with NC is having the opportunity to serve on the board, as well as work with others in advertising and fund-raising.
Rehearsals
Northwest Chorale rehearsals take place on Monday nights from 7:30 - 9:30 PM at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, located at 12509 27th Ave. NE in Seattle. Because of the difficult nature of the pieces we perform, it is important that everyone attend every rehearsal. Each member is allowed to miss up to three rehearsals per concert. If a member misses more than three rehearsals, he or she must receive permission from the director to perform with the choir.
To reach Lamb of God Lutheran from Seattle, take I-5 north to Exit 174 (NE 130th St) - one exit past the Northgate Mall. Head east after exiting, and the church will be on your left after approximately one mile.
